Border Guard officers from Tuplice detained an Afghan man without valid documents and a 56-year-old Polish citizen accused of helping him attempt to cross into Germany.

The Afghan national received a suspended six-month prison sentence and was placed in a guarded detention center pending return proceedings. The Polish driver faces up to eight years in prison for assisting in the attempted crossing.
