On 25 October 2025, in a grocery shop at the Market Square in Kazimierz Dolny, an unidentified man used violence against a pupil from Ukraine attending the Jan Koszczyc Witkiewicz School Complex. The teenager had come in to buy water and was talking on the phone in Ukrainian. As a local resident, Beata Rosłaniec, described it: "The boy was standing there buying water, talking on the phone in Ukrainian. A guy came up to him and hit him in the face." The blow caused heavy bleeding and a broken nose.

The police were notified and secured recordings from monitoring cameras; the material was to be passed to the prosecutor's office. The school's director, Robert Sadurski, said: "We took care of the pupil, he had a conversation with a psychologist in the presence of the boarding-house supervisor. Fortunately he did not need hospitalisation." He noted that about a third of the school's roughly 240 pupils are foreigners, mostly Ukrainians.

The co-owner of the shop where the attack happened said: "We do not tolerate and do not accept any manifestations of aggression, all the more on national grounds. In this situation the people working there immediately offered help to the victim."
