●  Detention for deportation in Szypliszki

On 7 July 2026, officers of the Polish Border Guard and Police detained six foreign nationals after they crossed the Polish-Lithuanian border on foot at an unauthorized location in the Szypliszki municipality. The group consisted of five Somali citizens and one Moroccan citizen.

According to the Border Guard, the migrants did not have documents authorizing them to cross the border or stay legally in Poland. After the required procedures, they were transferred back to Lithuania under the readmission procedure.
