● Physical attack in Gdańsk
On the night of 13 June 2026, on the beach at ul. Zdrojowa in the Brzeźno district of Gdańsk, a 19-year-old Ukrainian woman played a Ukrainian song on her phone while walking to the beach toilets. A group of four people — three men and one woman — began shouting nationalist abuse at her. When she and her male companion, also Ukrainian, tried to leave, the group attacked both of them.
The assault continued at a nearby tram stop, where one of the attackers threw a glass bottle at the woman's head. The glass cut into her head to a depth of around 7–8 millimetres, and she was taken to hospital, where the wound was stitched. Both victims sustained injuries classified as causing disruption of bodily functions for no more than seven days.
The VI Police District in Gdańsk is investigating the incident as an assault motivated by the victims' nationality. In late August 2026 the police published images of the four suspects taken from surveillance footage and asked the public for help identifying them; as of early September 2026 they had not been identified.
