A 17-year-old boy, Szymon, who was born and raised in Poland and has dark skin, was stabbed seven times by 17-year-old Gracjan R. during an attack in a public park in Pasłęk. According to court records and the victim's family, the attack followed a long-running conflict in which the perpetrator had repeatedly directed racist insults at Szymon since primary school. Before the stabbing, Gracjan R. allegedly threatened to 'kill that n****r', chased Szymon through the streets with a knife, and filmed him to humiliate him. The victim's mother stated that her son's skin colour was the central reason for the hostility.

On 17 July 2026, the court sentenced the now 18-year-old Gracjan R. to imprisonment for the knife attack. However, neither the prosecution nor the court recognized a racist motive in the case, despite the reported racist abuse and threats preceding the assault. The victim's family criticized the authorities for failing to treat the attack as racially motivated, while the court issued a sentence that was widely described as relatively lenient.
