● Physical attack in Gdańsk
A 37-year-old man attacked a Polish father and son at an allotment garden on Modra Street in Gdańsk while heavily intoxicated (over 1.5‰ alcohol). During the attack, he shouted nationalist insults, calling the victims 'Banderites' because one of them had an Eastern accent, despite both victims being Polish citizens. He also insulted a Ukrainian citizen who was nearby.
The older victim suffered a broken arm and was hospitalized. Police detained the attacker in the Olszynka area shortly after the incident. Prosecutors charged him with causing moderate bodily harm out of hooligan motives, insulting people based on nationality, and drunk driving. He faces up to five years in prison, with the xenophobic nature of the incident considered an aggravating factor.
