A migrant woman said she was verbally abused by an elderly customer while shopping in an Hebe store in Poland. The confrontation began after the woman answered a phone call from her mother and spoke in a foreign language. According to her account, the elderly woman turned around and shouted at her, assuming she was Ukrainian because she was not speaking Polish.

The woman said she is not Ukrainian but argued that this was irrelevant, as the incident reflected hostility toward anyone perceived as a foreigner. She claimed that some people now treat all non-Polish speakers as enemies, regardless of their actual nationality, and criticized the public xenophobic outburst directed at her simply for speaking another language in a public place.
