●  Discrimination in Jachranka

A planned asylum center called "Bezpieczna Przystań" in Jahránka near Warsaw has been cancelled following overwhelming local opposition. The facility was intended to house women and mothers with children seeking international protection, and would have been located in a vacant state-owned building. Of 881 valid responses collected during public consultations, 98.3% of residents were against the project. Concerns ranged from xenophobic fears about demographic change to more practical worries about property values and local safety.

The decision to cancel the project came after regional politicians, including Sejm deputy Jan Grabiec, raised the issue directly with Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński, who ultimately halted the plan. However, no alternative location has been identified, meaning vulnerable women and children will continue to be housed alongside men at an existing center in Podkowa Leśna — the very situation the new facility was meant to address.
