A Ukrainian man named Arsen said that while training at a gym in Poznań, he was confronted by a Polish man, later identified by media reports as MMA fighter Piotr Kuberski. According to Arsen, the man objected to the Ukrainian trident on his T-shirt, claiming it promoted the UPA and Stepan Bandera. The argument allegedly escalated into xenophobic insults and aggression directed at Arsen, who called the police, but the other man left before officers arrived.

Arsen denied online claims that he had praised Bandera or described himself as a 'Banderite', saying CCTV footage with audio would show he made no such statements and that the dispute began solely because of the Ukrainian national emblem on his shirt. He also denied rumors that he had previously been attacked over the symbol. According to the report, police accepted his complaint and opened proceedings concerning the alleged xenophobic behavior and the dissemination of defamatory information.
