●  Insult in Owińska

An anti-Ukrainian banner was hung overnight in Owińska displaying a crossed-out Ukrainian flag and the message: 'End of hospitality, ungrateful sons of bitches.' Passers-by reported it to police at around 1:00 a.m. Police classified the banner as containing slogans inciting hatred on the basis of nationality, secured evidence with forensic officers, and launched an investigation to identify those responsible. Under Polish law, incitement to national hatred is punishable by up to three years in prison.

On the same weekend, police received reports of two additional banners in the same area referring to Ukrainians. According to police, those banners did not contain content that clearly violated criminal law, but officers are investigating whether they were placed by the same individuals and whether any other offences were committed.
