●  Discrimination in Kalisz

In early September 2026 a women's handball team from Rivne, Ukraine, was refused service at a petrol station in Kalisz (Wielkopolskie voivodeship) because the players were Ukrainian. The club was in Kalisz for a pre-season training camp. After the delegation arrived at its hotel and was asked to wait, several players walked to a nearby petrol station to buy coffee.

According to the club's president, Yurii Lipskyi, the woman working at the station refused to serve the players once she heard they were Ukrainians and sold them nothing, even though they were ready to pay. Lipskyi said Polish colleagues had also told him that some people now treat Ukrainians differently than before.

The incident is known only from the account the club president gave to the Ukrainian outlet 24 Kanal. No police report and no response from the petrol station have been reported.
