● Insult in Prudnik
In late July 2026 (the photos are dated 28 July 2026), a reader of the local news site Teraz Prudnik photographed graffiti on bus shelters in the villages of Łąka Prudnicka and Moszczanka, next to Prudnik (Opolskie voivodeship). One of the shelters was spray-painted with the words "FUCK UPA". The perpetrators are unknown.
UPA, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, is a WWII-era Ukrainian nationalist formation. In Poland, "UPA" slogans are widely used as an anti-Ukrainian insult aimed at Ukrainians in general, so the inscription in a public place targets Ukrainian residents and travellers.
The local media reported the graffiti only as vandalism of the shelters, noting that the shelters are regularly defaced.
