● Physical attack in Szczecin
In mid-July 2025, in front of the Galaxy shopping centre in the centre of Szczecin, two residents of the city attacked a 16-year-old boy from Ukraine. According to the account publicised by Marek Łagocki, a lawyer, court mediator and chairman of Nowa Lewica in Koszalin, the attackers shouted at the teenager "F... Ukrainians, they will not live off our taxes", punched him in the head and kicked him until he lost consciousness. An ambulance was called to the scene and took the boy to hospital.
Anna Gembala of the Szczecin police headquarters confirmed that a sixteen-year-old had been struck in the city centre and taken away by ambulance, and said that at that point his parents had not yet reported the incident. A witness quoted by local media gave a different version, claiming that the teenager had been drunk and had been pestering passers-by before the fight started; the circumstances were therefore disputed.
Commenting publicly on the attack, Łagocki wrote: "This is not an incident. This is not an 'ordinary fight'. This is the effect of right-wing incitement, contempt and dehumanisation. This is the moment when hate stops being just a word on the internet – and starts to spill blood on the street. [...] Let us react. Let us not stay silent. Let us not allow racism and violence to become the norm."
