● Physical attack in Wałbrzych
On 14 July 2025, a 40-year-old Paraguayan man who was legally living and working in Wałbrzych was assaulted by two local men after false allegations that he had filmed children. Police had investigated the report beforehand, inspected his phone, and found no evidence supporting the accusation. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Prosecutors later stated that the evidence did not confirm a nationalist motive for this individual assault, and the charges were changed to lesser assault-related offenses.
On 15 July 2025, in the aftermath of the assault on the Paraguayan man and amid public reaction to the false child-filming allegations, around 50 masked people gathered outside a hostel housing foreign workers in Wałbrzych's Szczawienko district. The group lit flares, shouted insults, attempted to intimidate foreign residents, and tried to approach the building before police prevented the situation from escalating. Prosecutors later expanded the investigation to examine the crowd's actions as possible public incitement to hatred on the grounds of nationality, while police emphasized that both residents and legally residing foreigners had the right to safety.
