● Physical attack
In the early hours of 28 October 2026, on a Ukrainian overnight train bound for Przemyśl, a heavily drunk Polish passenger had been talking loudly on the phone in his compartment since about 4 a.m. When a woman from another compartment knocked to ask him to be quiet, he opened the door, shouted "What do you want?!" and hit her in the face.
A Ukrainian passenger from the neighbouring compartment and the train attendant intervened and said they would call the police. The man replied "And what will the police do to me?" and later "I'm a Pole, what will you do to me?!", claiming that as a Polish citizen he faced no consequences. He also said they could prove neither that he had been drinking nor that he had hit anyone.
Police boarded the train in Lviv and spoke to the man. The woman who was hit refused to file a complaint, fearing it would delay her journey to the border. After the train stood in Lviv for almost two hours, the man left it.
