Discrimination in Warszawa

Warszawa, Mazowieckie Discrimination ✗ Not verified

On 24 August 2026 in Warsaw, a Russian-speaking foreign woman went to an appointment at a LuxMed private medical centre. She had been referred to the specialist by her internist with an "urgent" note, because her health problem was serious. The doctor's profile on the LuxMed website and on the Znany Lekarz portal both stated that he speaks English.

According to the patient's own account, the doctor refused to speak English with her. He did not say that he did not know the language or had trouble understanding it; instead he told her "w Polsce mówi się po polsku" ("in Poland one speaks Polish") and lectured her on how she should behave in this country. In a later comment the author confirmed that the doctor does know English and simply did not want to communicate with her in it.

The woman filed a complaint at the clinic on the spot and left a review on the Znany Lekarz portal. She did not publish the doctor's name.
