● Insult in Częstochowa
On the evening of Sunday 23 August 2026, in a restaurant in Częstochowa (Śląskie voivodeship), a 50-year-old resident of the city insulted a 21-year-old Ukrainian woman during a conversation, using abusive and indecent words directed at her because of her nationality. In the same conversation he made statements praising Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
A fragment of the conversation was recorded and published on social media. Police secured the recording, and criminal investigators from Police Station I in Częstochowa began establishing the man's identity and the circumstances of the incident.
While evidence was being gathered, the 50-year-old reported to the police station himself. He was detained and taken to the Częstochowa-Północ District Prosecutor's Office, where the prosecutor charged him with publicly praising Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and with insulting the 21-year-old Ukrainian woman on account of her nationality. He was placed under police supervision and faces up to five years in prison.
