●  Physical attack in Częstochowa

On 26 July 2025 in the centre of Częstochowa, two citizens of Zimbabwe were ordered to leave a bar by Patryk R. and his companion. After the victims refused, they were pushed and insulted, and Patryk R. stabbed one of them in the chest with a knife. Prosecutors treated the attack as an attempted murder motivated by racial hatred. The injured Zimbabwean, who was legally living and working in Poland, survived after surgery. The second attacker was charged with insulting and assaulting the foreigners because of their race.

During the same night in the same area, Patryk R., together with other assailants, attacked two Italian citizens leaving a venue. The Italians were repeatedly punched and kicked in the head, suffering serious injuries including a fractured jaw and eye socket. Prosecutors also classified this assault as violence motivated by the victims’ nationality.

On 16 July 2026, the District Court in Częstochowa sentenced Patryk R. to 12 years in prison for the attempted murder of the Zimbabwean citizen and for racially and nationally motivated violence against citizens of Zimbabwe and Italy. The court also imposed compensation payments to the victims. The case drew attention to earlier racist incidents connected with the radical supporters’ section of the football club Raków Częstochowa.
