On 3 July 2026 the local Łódź edition of "Gazeta Wyborcza" described a racist incident in one of the city parks. In June someone secretly filmed dark-skinned women and children who were spending time there together, without their knowledge or consent.

A few hours later the recording reached social media with the caption "Mass immigration is already here". Among the people filmed was the wife of a resident of the city who comes from Cameroon and has lived in Poland for more than 19 years. The video was quickly reshared by further users and a large number of racist comments appeared under it.

The film appeared among others on the profile of Klaudia Domagała, an activist of Konfederacja/Nowa Nadzieja, who stood unsuccessfully for the European Parliament in 2024 and for mayor of Łódź and is known for promoting xenophobic content. It soon disappeared from her profile and she stated that she was not the author of the recording.

In an interview with the Łódź "Gazeta Wyborcza" the injured man from Cameroon said he had contacted the people who had shared the material asking them to remove it. He summed it up bitterly: "This is my family. These are people whom I know. I do not allow such treatment. Everyone has the right to their own opinions and views, but they should not record people who are not aware of it and later use them in a propaganda message."
