On the evening of 9 April 2022, at around 8:55 p.m., a man attacked two Ukrainian women on tram line 33 at the Park Olszyna stop in Warsaw. One of the victims was pregnant and was travelling with her 9-year-old son; the second victim was her mother. The attacker shouted that "all Ukrainians should die" and then became violent: according to the spokeswoman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, he kicked one of the women and punched the other in the face.

The pregnant woman fell after the blow and lost consciousness. An emergency dispatcher refused to accept the call for an ambulance because the person calling spoke Ukrainian; the injured woman eventually reached hospital by other means. Both women were treated in hospital.

The Warsaw-Żoliborz District Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation into the use of violence against two Ukrainian citizens because of their nationality and into unlawful threats of bodily harm directed at them and at the 9-year-old boy. Police published an image of the suspect and appealed for witnesses.
