●  Physical attack in Radom

On the morning of 2 August 2026, on Malczewskiego Street in Radom, three 20-year-old Ukrainian citizens were beaten by a group of eight men. According to the head of the Radom-Wschód district prosecutor's office, Cezary Ołtarzewski, 34-year-old Tomasz G. from Lublin, who was on his way back from a wedding, heard the three young men speaking Ukrainian, asked where they were from, and when they answered that they were from Ukraine, asked whether they knew about Wołyń (Volhynia).

When the Ukrainians tried to walk away, Tomasz G. called over three men standing on the other side of the street and told them that he had come across guys from Ukraine. Those men ran up to the three young Ukrainians and began beating them, and after a short time four more men joined in, so that eight people in total were beating the three victims. The victims suffered head and face injuries. The attack and the faces of the attackers were recorded by city CCTV cameras.

Police detained Tomasz G. and charged him with taking part in a beating motivated by national hatred (Art. 119 par. 1 and Art. 158 par. 1 of the Polish Criminal Code). He admitted his guilt and stated that he had been under the influence of alcohol; he faces up to five years in prison. The identities of the other seven attackers were still being established.
