● Insult in Wrocław
On the morning of 21 October 2026 in Wrocław, a Belarusian couple, Viktoria and Roman, could not leave their rented flat in an old building near the city centre. Unknown perpetrators had filled both locks of the front door with mounting foam, smeared the door and its glass panel with red paint and written "Won do siebie" ("Get out, go back home") on it in Polish, which the couple understood as a demand to leave the country. Firefighters had to be called to free them; they photographed the damage and said such acts are a criminal offence.
According to Viktoria, the couple, who moved to Poland in 2021 and received international protection, are the only foreigners in the building. In the preceding two to three weeks, conflicts with residents of four flats had escalated, and neighbours had repeatedly insulted them, including shouting "get out" at them in Polish; the couple had once called the police over one such conflict. After the incident, a neighbour came to their door with a wrench, which Viktoria perceived as a threat.
Roman reported the attack to the police, who inspected the door and collected samples of the foam and paint. The perpetrators have not been identified.
