On the night of 13 June 2026, on the beach near ul. Zdrojowa in the Brzeźno district of Gdańsk, a 19-year-old Ukrainian woman played a Ukrainian song on her phone while walking to the beach toilets. A group of four people — three men and one woman — began shouting nationalist abuse at her. When she and her Ukrainian companion tried to leave, the group attacked both of them.

The assault continued on the street, at a nearby tram stop, where one of the attackers threw a glass bottle at the woman's head. The glass cut into her head to a depth of around 7–8 millimetres, and she was taken to hospital, where the wound was stitched. Both victims suffered injuries qualified as bodily harm lasting no longer than seven days.

Officers of the 6th Police Precinct in Gdańsk secured city surveillance footage of the incident. On 29 August 2026 they made public the images of the four people recorded by the cameras and appealed for help in establishing their identity. The suspects have not been identified so far, and the case is being investigated as an attack motivated by the victims' nationality.
