●  Physical attack in Mszczonów

On the night of 31 December 2024 into 1 January 2025, in Mszczonów (Żyrardów county, Mazovia), a group of young men attacked four Ukrainian citizens. According to the police, the assailants beat the four men and at the same time publicly insulted them because of their national origin, demanding that they leave Poland and go back to Ukraine. The injured Ukrainians needed medical treatment in hospital.

Officers detained five men the following day: aged 17, 19, 20, 20 and 23. Four of them were charged with taking part in a beating motivated by the victims' national origin. Investigators stressed that the men had acted publicly and without any clear reason, in flagrant disregard of the law, which gave the act a hooligan character. At the request of the District Prosecutor's Office in Żyrardów, the court ordered three months of pre-trial detention for two of the suspects.
