A group of four men wearing clothing resembling law-enforcement uniforms was seen in central Warsaw approaching foreigners near the Central Railway Station and claiming to check whether they were legally staying in Poland. Their clothing displayed Polish flags and white eagle patches associated with the anti-immigration movement “Bronimy Polskiej Granicy” (“Defend the Polish Border”). The group recorded its activities and published the footage online. One of the alleged organizers, Rafał Podejma, has previously shared content from anti-immigration actions and is linked to the circle of politician Grzegorz Braun.

Warsaw police stated that they were aware of the patrols and were investigating the matter, warning that impersonating law-enforcement officers would result in a strong response if confirmed. Anti-racism activist and sociologist Rafał Pankowski said that such patrols are intended to create fear and described them as an example of organized aggressive xenophobia. He noted that similar groups had previously operated near Poland’s borders and that anti-migrant sentiment and increasingly radical actions by right-wing organizations were growing in the country.
