A Ukrainian woman reported that while she was about 6–7 months pregnant in 2024, she was standing quietly on a tram when an unknown woman, estimated to be 50–55 years old, approached her, spat in her face several times without provocation, and shouted: 'Spierdalaj na Ukrainę i walcz za nią' ('Fuck off to Ukraine and fight for it'). The victim said she had not been speaking or drawing attention to herself and believes the attack was motivated by her presumed Ukrainian nationality.

The victim considered reporting the incident to the police as a suspected hate-motivated attack but decided against it because she was experiencing a difficult pregnancy with severe swelling and did not feel able to go through the reporting process. She stated that this was the only incident of open anti-Ukrainian aggression she had experienced during her time living in Poland.
