●  Physical attack in Mielec

During the night after an event at the Tropicana venue in Mielec, a group of about ten men attacked six foreign nationals from Latin America. The victims, who were legally staying in Poland and came from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, and Venezuela, suffered injuries and were taken to hospital. Residents reported hearing bottles being smashed on the victims and called the police after witnessing the assault.

Witnesses and surveillance recordings captured racist and anti-immigrant insults directed at the victims, including slurs against Black people and calls for immigrants to leave Poland. Police stated that the investigation concerns both assault and the public insulting of the victims because of their nationality.

Investigators have identified seven suspected attackers, some of whom have already been detained and charged. Prosecutors are pursuing charges related to the beating and nationality-based insults, offenses that can carry penalties of up to five years in prison.
