On 23 June 2026 a 15-year-old boy from Ukraine drowned at the Glinianki bathing area in Zielonka near Warsaw. In the following days his death was welcomed by part of the internet community and used to spread anti-Ukrainian hatred.

Under a post on the Facebook profile Miejski Reporter, which publishes information about incidents in Warsaw and the surrounding area and is followed by 465,000 people, comments appeared including: "one Ukrainian less in Poland", "One moron less", "charming, but a Ukrainian so wild game", "this is not a child but a 15-year-old Banderite", "He f...ed off like a dog, may they all go there", "Why fish him out and waste money?" / "why should it stink?" / "the fish will eat him", "In the end they will kill themselves off", "Karma met him for Wołyń", "you are another example that it was not worth saving the mongrels during the war".

In response to internet users who were outraged by the comments approving of the child's death and demanded that the possibility of commenting be blocked on the Miejski Reporter profile, the administrator wrote irritably: "These are your comments, not mine. Report them to FB instead of making dramas. I have things to do during the day." According to the prosecutor's office, both parents of the drowned boy had died in the war in Ukraine; in Poland he was looked after by his 15-year-old sister, who "is the only living representative of the deceased's family".
