●  Insult in Warszawa Bielany

In late August 2022, two employees of a public preschool in the Stare Bielany area of Warsaw made racist remarks about a boy from a Polish-African family who had just been admitted to the institution. The women phoned the child's mother about meal arrangements; she did not manage to pick up, and because her voicemail was recording, their conversation after the call was captured in full.

On the recording the employees mocked the African surname of the child, which they were unable to pronounce, and spoke offensively about his father. One of them said: "And maybe, f..., he doesn't speak Polish?", to which the other replied: "Relax, he lives in Poland, so let him learn. F..., in France we would have to speak French."

The mother notified the preschool management and the education authority. The spokeswoman of the Bielany district apologised publicly, condemned "all manifestations of racism on cultural, racial and religious grounds" and confirmed that disciplinary consequences had been applied to the staff. On 22 September the head of the preschool resigned from her post. The mother moved her son to another institution.
