●  Physical attack in Warszawa Śródmieście

On 22 August 2026 a Polish woman verbally and physically attacked Ukrainian women in the toilets of the Kino Atlantic cinema in central Warsaw (Śródmieście). According to the account of the victim, a Ukrainian woman who has lived in Warsaw for ten years, the woman ran into the cinema and asked staff to let her use the toilet. While the victim was standing in the queue in complete silence, together with another young woman whose nationality she did not know, the stranger came out of a cubicle and began shouting loudly in Polish: "Jebane Ukrainki, spierdalać, suki, na front!" ("Fucking Ukrainian women, fuck off, bitches, to the front!").

The woman then wet her hands and walked right up to the two women, splashing water into their faces. The younger woman, who looked about 20, ran back towards the cubicles in fear. The attacker repeated the splashing and tried to start a fight. The victim took out her phone, started recording and said she would report her to the police for xenophobia, after which the attacker backed off and ran out of the cinema. Part of the confrontation was captured on video and the victim reported the incident to the cinema management, which apologised to her.

The attack happened on a day when Kino Atlantic was showing the Ukrainian film "Potyah 'Chervona Ruta'" as part of events marking Ukraine's Independence Day, screened in Warsaw between 21 and 23 August 2026. No words in Ukrainian had been spoken in the toilet before the attack.
