● Physical attack in Ostrów Mazowiecka
On 25 September 2025, on an estate on Lubiejewska street in Ostrów Mazowiecka, a local resident attacked an 11-year-old dark-skinned boy. He shouted racist and vulgar insults referring to the child's skin colour and origin, and then kicked him twice in the thigh. The boy is the son of a Polish mother and a Nigerian father. His mother reported the incident to the police.
The investigation was conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrów Mazowiecka and the attacker was initially wanted. On 15 October media reported that officers had identified the likely perpetrator; he turned out to be 30-year-old Konrad K. The prosecution charged him with publicly insulting a minor and using violence against him because of his racial origin. As the spokeswoman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrołęka, prosecutor Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz, explained, "the conduct of the accused was classified as an offence of a hooligan character".
In April 2026 the indictment was sent to the Regional Court in Ostrołęka. The boy testified in a "blue room" for child witnesses. In July 2026 the court sentenced Konrad K. to six months in prison, suspended for a probation period of three years, ordered him to abstain from alcohol and drugs and to pay 500 złoty in compensation to the victim. The accused did not admit guilt.
