●  Insult in Warszawa

On 6 August 2026 in Warsaw, Diana, a 30-year-old woman born in Ukraine who has lived in Poland for over ten years and holds Polish citizenship, called an ambulance because of a severe headache and nausea. According to her written complaint, the crew did not come up to her apartment but told her to come down to the vehicle, and one of the medics changed his attitude after learning that she was from Ukraine.

In her account, the medic addressed her informally and asked "What do you expect from us?", then said: "In Ukraine, they even call ambulances for prescriptions. You have legs, you can go to a doctor." When her Polish friend arrived, he added: "Why are you calling us? She could have taken you, why did you call us?" After Diana declined the offered hospitalisation, he asked "What, your head doesn't hurt anymore? Is it over?" and again spoke dismissively about the Ukrainian healthcare system.

Diana filed a complaint with the Warsaw ambulance service Meditrans. On 26 August 2026 the service replied that it had found no violations; the medic confirmed asking about her country of origin but said it was needed for medical documentation and denied being rude. Diana disagrees with the findings and intends to appeal.
