● Police raid
On March 2–3, 2026, a nationwide operation to detain wanted persons was carried out in Poland, coordinated by the Criminal Bureau of the National Police Headquarters. A total of 26,496 officers took part. In total, 1,944 individuals wanted under arrest warrants and court orders for compulsory appearance were detained. Among them were 147 foreign nationals, including 91 citizens of Ukraine, 14 of Georgia, 8 of Belarus, 3 of Moldova, 2 of Russia, and 29 from other countries. Seven individuals sought under European Arrest Warrants and Interpol Red Notices were also arrested.
The operation involved all police units, including the Central Cybercrime Bureau and the Central Investigation Bureau, in cooperation with the Border Guard. During checks on the legality of foreigners’ residence, 140 people were found to be staying in Poland "illegally"; 112 motions were submitted requesting decisions obliging them to leave the country. This was the first such operation in 2026; in 2025, three similar operations resulted in 4,766 arrests, including 515 foreign nationals.
