On or around 11 September 2026, during a taxi ride in Poland, a passenger demanded that the driver speak Polish to her instead of Ukrainian. The driver is a Ukrainian woman who works as a taxi driver and runs the Instagram account on which the recording was published. The passenger was also a Ukrainian citizen, who said she had lived in Poland for almost seven years.

The driver asked the passenger whether she was from Ukraine or Belarus, and the passenger answered in Polish that she was from Ukraine. Asked why she was speaking Polish, the passenger said that they live in Poland, so they have to speak Polish ("Ale mieszkamy w Polsce, nie? Więc musimy gadać po polsku"). The driver said she had assumed that between themselves they could speak Ukrainian and asked whether that was not allowed. The passenger replied that driving the taxi was the driver's job, that she works in Poland and pays taxes there, and told her: "Więc proszę pani rozmawiać w języku polskim." The driver dropped the subject and the ride continued.
