● Physical attack in Ostrava
On the evening of Friday, 11 September 2026, Kuba Heisig, a cyclist from Chorzów, Poland, was beaten in the centre of Ostrava, Czechia. He was riding the "Rajza dla Marceliny" charity route along the historical borders of Upper Silesia to raise money for the cancer treatment of his pregnant partner.
According to the account published by the Cargo Familia Facebook page and reported by Polish media, the attackers, most likely Polish men, shouted that he was a "Ukrainian" and a "Banderite". They reacted to his yellow-and-blue hat with the inscription "GÓRNY ŚLONSK" (Upper Silesia), taking the Silesian colours for the Ukrainian flag. He was kicked and taken to hospital for examination.
The attack was reported to the Czech police. After the incident, Heisig ended his ride and returned home.
