On the evening of April 4th, around 11:00 PM, near the Imperial Castle in Poznań, a Polish woman attacked two Ukrainian girls aged approximately 14–15 years old. A bystander named Darya Martsofey intervened to defend the girls, after which the aggressor turned on her instead. When Darya began filming the incident for evidence, the woman attacked her as well, chasing her, grabbing her by the hair, pulling it out, and leaving a scratch on her neck. The attacker fled the scene after a passerby threatened to call the police.

Darya subsequently contacted the police, but the response was ineffective. Officers informed her that without proof of "serious bodily harm," they were unable to take action, and suggested she file a claim in civil court instead. When Darya attempted to show the video footage as evidence, police refused to view it, citing the absence of identifying information about the perpetrator.
