On the evening of December 19, 2025, a 41-year-old Ukrainian man, Jurij L., was attacked by a group of unidentified young men outside a residential block in Radom. Earlier that day he had been caught trying to steal beer from a local convenience store; two shop employees locked him inside and demanded 1,000 PLN not to call the police, eventually forcing him to pay over 500 PLN. One of the men who came to the shop during this incident told an acquaintance about it, who then gathered several friends and, around 9 p.m., confronted Jurij L. near his block of flats.

During the attack the assailants punched and kicked the victim while shouting that "Poland is for Poles" and that he should go back to Ukraine to fight in the war. Neighbors intervened after hearing the commotion, and the attackers fled. Jurij L. suffered serious head injuries; two days later, on December 21, his condition worsened and he was hospitalized, underwent head surgery, and was placed in intensive care in serious condition.

Former MMA fighter Aleks R. was later identified and charged with taking part in the beating because of the victim's national origin; he admitted to kicking the victim and was placed in pre-trial detention, facing a possible sentence of 3 to 20 years. The identities of the other attackers were never established. Two shop employees, Anna H. and Marta U., were separately charged with unlawfully confining the victim and extorting money from him.
